William G. Hook - Scary Stuff
Watercolor painting by William G. Hook from the Northwest Watercolor Society (Washington).
Artist Statement: I was excited about the energy in the narrow wedge of sky between two somewhat scary objects; rusting fire escapes and a condemed viaduct. The watercolor was applied as a graded wash that directs the eye and sets the overall mood. Major shapes were then painted with details being added while the areas were still damp.
