I am a transparent watercolor painter. Travel and where I live have served as the inspiration for most of my paintings. I mainly paint realistically, using my own photos as reference but occasionally like to experiment with abstraction. Over the years I have met and painted many women living in the villages surrounding Oaxaca City and have a series titled Las Mujeres de Oaxaca. One day in the town square I saw an interesting group of men and asked if I could photograph them because I now wished to do a series of paintings of Oaxacan men. They said I could photograph them but that they were not from Oaxaca but rather were an acting troupe from Morales. They are the subject of the painting “What are We Waiting For?”
